His Legacy
A life given to others as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, teacher, and man of faith.
Jackton Ochieng Omolo was born in September 1957 to Lawi Omolo and Rhoda Owuor. As their son, he was raised in a foundation of family, responsibility, faith, and service values he carried with him throughout his life.
He later became a devoted husband to his beloved wife Caroline. Together they built a family marked by love, devotion, and perseverance. He was a loving father to Jusho and Rhoda, and his family continued to grow through Andrea and Roger, and through his grandchildren Zion, Loreah, Amayah, Raina, and Rhema. To his family, he was a steady, loving, and deeply valued presence.
Jackton was also a brother, raised alongside his siblings Joseph, Pamela, Eunice, Sylvester, Albert, Rose, and Maurice. Family was never a small thing to him; it was part of who he was.
He was also a brother-in-law to Christine, Joyce, Lawrence, Joseph, Winnie, and Tina. His life was deeply woven into the wider family, and his presence, care, and steady support were felt across many relationships.
He was also a cherished uncle to Jairus, Sharon, Lofty, Oliver, Cameron, Collins, Maureen, Ken, Keith, Westin, Rodney, Rhoda, Qwe, Tendai, Jabali, and Ian. His life reached far beyond his immediate household, and his care, guidance, and presence were felt across the wider family.
Jackton gave his life to education. In Kenya, he taught for over 20 years, serving in Nairobi, Eldoret, and Kisumu. He shaped young minds with patience, discipline, and care, leaving a mark on countless students over many years. In 2001, he moved to the United Kingdom, where he continued teaching for a further 25 years. Across both Kenya and the UK, teaching was never simply work to him it was part of his calling.
But beyond the classroom, Jackton was also a teacher of the Word of God. For more than 30 years, he pursued a life of faith, continually seeking after God’s heart. He loved Jesus deeply, and that love could be seen in the way he lived, the way he served, and the way he carried himself. He was not only someone who spoke about faith he lived it.
His favourite scripture was Psalm 121, a passage that reflected the posture of his life and where he placed his trust:
“I lift up my eyes to the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.”
That scripture was more than words to him. It was an anchor. It spoke to the way he walked through life looking to God for strength, help, and direction.
Jackton is remembered as a man who gave of himself generously. He taught in classrooms, he taught through scripture, and he taught through the witness of his own life. His legacy lives on in his family, in the students he taught, in the people he encouraged, and in all those who saw in him a life shaped by service and devotion to God.
He loved Jesus, and he never stopped chasing after God’s heart.
